FAQs
Would me being an inactive member in the previous quarter affect my application?
Not necessarily! We understand that school and life can get hectic, and can sometimes affect your ability to meet requirements. If and when you reapply, there is a place to explain any information you’d like us to know.
What are common reasons an application gets rejected?
There can be many factors but it depends on the batch of applications. Vague and generic responses could hold your application back.
What are some opportunities to get involved?
Joining a committee or even showing initiative within your case competition team is how you truly get closer to other club members and feel most involved. Some committees we have are the Design, Fundraising, Marketing, Alumni Relations, and the Spring Formal Committees. Board members are also available for coffee chats, mock interviews, resume help, and headshots.
What are strategies you would recommend to stay on track on fulfilling all basic deadlines for EBSA?
Plan ahead! EBSA puts all events on our calendar and previews events on both our Instagram and general meeting slides. If you have a conflict that prevents you from fulfilling a requirement, let your mentor know early so we can work something out.
Is there an alumni network for EBSA?
Yes! Many of our alumni return to EBSA for Alumni Night or Guest Speaker events. We stay connected via our Discord server, LinkedIn group, Facebook page, and Alumni Newsletter.
How much time am I expected to commit if accepted?
To be an active member, you can expect to spend around 2-3 hours a week on general meetings and case competition preparation. In addition, you’re also required to complete your fundraising, social, and guest speaker credits held throughout the quarter.
Is there a dress code for general meetings?
No, there is no dress code for general members.
